He Will Do It
Did you ever think of how much power there is in agreement? The incident with the Tower of Babel helps us understand. The people of the earth were building a city with a tower that would reach to the heavens. This was not a good thing - it was evil and rebellious. God looked at it and said; "Behold, they are one people, and they all have the same language. And this is what they began to do, and now nothing which they purpose to do will be impossible for them." (Genesis 11:6)
In order to stop them, God introduced different languages for the first time. They could no longer understand each other and the plan was thwarted. God was pretty much saying that if he didn't do something to prevent it they were going to succeed. That's astonishing. If the power of agreement was that strong in sinful man, how much more so is it when God's people come into agreement with him?
Matthew 18:19 spells it out for us. "Again I say to you, that if two of you agree on earth about anything that they may ask, it shall be done for them by My Father who is in heaven." Wow! God is actually sharing his creative power with us. He is allowing us to become his partner for his purposes.
What do you think God would like you to agree with him to do? Ask him and find out. Agree with him and then watch carefully. He will do it.
